Durdle Door, Dorset is one of the most beautiful spots in the south of England (If I do say so myself). If you are thinking about visiting please read on as I will give you some useful information!

Firstly lets talk about parking. There are two main car parks that allow you access to Durdle door. The first is Lulworth Cove car park which is £10 for the day, this car park is open 24 hours per day. If you park here there is a 30minute walk over to Durdle door. You can also park at Durdle door which is a 10 minute walk down to the beach. This car park is also £10 for the day and £5 for up to 4 hours, however this car park does not open till 9am.
If you are planning a trip down to Durdle door you could make it a big day trip or a long weekend. I visited for the day and also spent time at Lulworth Cove and Worbarrow bay.
Durdle Door
Durdle Door is situated in East Lulworth, a Village in Dorset, England. Durdle Door is famous for its natural arch that is formed from limestone which is out in the sea. Theres no wonder this beautiful beach gets so popular in the summer!
I would highly recommend getting here early. I got there for 8am, by the time I left at 11am there were already swarms of people heading down to the beach.
I have read that although you can swim at the beach in Durdle door you need to be careful, after 8 metres there is a sudden drop and the water gets deep. There is also no lifeguard on duty at this beach. I spent roughly 3/4 hours here by this time the beach got very busy!
One of the reasons I only stayed a few hours was lack of toilets. Make sure you use the toilet facilities which are located at each car park as it is a long way up if you are needing the rest room.

Just over the cliffs is Man O’war beach, this cove is made up of sand, pebbles and crystal blue waters. Definitely bring your swimmers, unfortunately I didn’t but I so would have taken a dip! This beach is just 5 minutes walk from Durdle Door, the views from the top are incredible.

Lulworth Cove
I really didn’t think England could be this beautiful, This is picturesque Lulworth Cove, these blue waters were filled with little boats coming in from the sea. Again pack your swimmers if it’s a hot day there was so many people in the water. It's a lovely little cove, I sat here and had a coffee whilst watching the boats come in and out of the cove.
One thing I was worried about was there not being toilets/places to grab food. If you are planning on visiting for the day there are plenty of bars, cafes and places to get coffee and ice cream. There are also toilets located in Lulworth Cove village. I spent around 2 hours here just taking in this scenery.
Worbarrow bay
I found this hidden gem from a blog post online when I was planning my day. Worbarrow Bay is a 20 minute walk from Tyneham Village and a short ten minute drive from Lulworth Cove. This bay and the surrounding coast line is part of the Jurassic coast which is Englands only natural world heritage site.
There wasn’t many people at this beach, if your looking for a quiet spot to spend a few hours this is the one. you can walk to the top of the hill which overlooks the bay.
- Parking was a £2 donation :)

I loved visiting this part of England, I would return with a bag full of snacks and I would spend a good few hours at Worbarrow Bay.
